The package provides the installation files for AMD PCI IDE Controller Driver version 5.2.2.179.In addition, the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller shows 4 ATA channel 0 and 4 ATA channel 1 - both of which have one channel with a flag (showing code 10 - will not start). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and the CD/DVD devices; I have installed the latest chipset software from Intel, but still have the problem. About SATA / AHCI / RAID Driver:
When you install an operating system, SATA settings (be it AHCI, RAID, or IDE mode) are detected from the BIOS. If you want to change from one mode to another after the OS has been applied, appropriate drivers are required.
Bear in mind that if you modify these settings without installing proper files first, the operating system will not be able to boot until changes are reverted or required drivers are applied.
To perform the latter task, get the package, run the available setup and follow the instructions displayed on-screen for a complete installation. Afterwards, perform a system reboot so that all changes take effect, enter BIOS menu, and set the SATA option to the mode that best describes the newly applied drivers.
So, if you intend to modify the SATA settings to the mode described by this release, click the download button, and make the desired changes. In addition to that, don’t forget to constantly check with our website so that you don’t miss a single new release.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver.
Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.

Ide Controller
Hello-
I've been very frustrated with my upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on my Desktop computer.
I've upgraded two computers at my house to Windows 10. Both have had much different results. My Windows 8 laptop upgraded easily and operates nicely with the update. My much faster Desktop went from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and is now super laggy and has been a horrible update. I upgraded both with existing (meaning I didn't do a full wipe and install..but the laptop had nearly nothing on it to begin with).
So I have been trying to figure out what my real problems were with the update on the Desktop (formerly Windows 7 and had tons of old apps, files, etc). I finally noticed that the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller ( which is an Intel (R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 10C02) is not starting up. I figured it was an old driver, but it says it has the most recent driver when I tried that. I then tried to uninstall the driver and do a restart, but it still says it is not starting (I believe it installed the same driver again).
I then posted on the Windows 10 reddit and got the advice to use an Intel utility for the drivers, but that also recognized that the driver was up to date and did nothing. Last night I backed up all my files and did a wipe and fresh install of Windows 10..but still the Intel (R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 10C02) is not starting up and has a yellow exclamation point through it in Device Manager
So now I am not experienced enough to know what I should do next. I am figuring that this is just not as compatible with Windows 10 like it was identified and that I should go back to Windows 7..but I am past my 30 days at this point.
Anyone got any advice for me?
